What is a Pirtle Volunteer?

A Pirtle Elementary Volunteer is

Valuable and Loved!

A Pirtle Volunteer can help in many ways. There are many opportunities to land a helping hand, from inside the classroom; working in small groups; at events; even at home doing odds and ends for teachers and staff.

Some activities that the PTO will be involved with this year is:

  • Selling School Merch
  • Fall Festival (a committee to spear head will be set up this year)
  • Book Fairs (there are normally three in the year)
  • Picture Days (Fall, Spring, and Kinder/5th Grade Graduation)
  • Penguin Patch (a holiday shop in December)
  • Spoil the Staff (one day for 5 months that we need everyone's help to Spoil our Staff with supplies/fixings for either a meal or treats)
  • Track Day for the P.E. Coaches
  • Panther Pounce Fun Run
  • Field Day
  • AND possible help with school run activities like: Spelling Bee; Multi-Cultural Night; and Literacy & STEAM Night.
  • More always seems to come up during the year as well
Volunteers are also needed inside the classrooms to work with small student groups; help the teachers with odds and ends; etc.

FOR ALL OF THESE ACTIVTITIES WHERE YOU WILL BE WORKING CLOSLY WITH THE STUDENTS, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR DISTRICT'S VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECK COMPLETED AND CLEARED.

We do have a large, round child's gate that we are more than happy to set up for any younger children that would love to tag along to some of the BIGGER volunteer opportunities.  Each sign up will have within the description whether it is an opportunity for a young child to come to or not.  Younger children CANNOT go into the classroom when one is volunteering there...the distraction is too strong with such cute little people around.

This year we are hoping to have more opportunities for those who want to help from home.  Keep an eye out for emails or links so that you can have a chance at these opportunities as well, if you would like.
